Question for today

This ongoing post will be for those who care to discuss concerns and questions I have. Today's question is

What do you do on those days that seem like everything is in Chaos. You and your husband are both feeling under the weather and your kids feel the tension and are fighting non stop and the two year old can't stop making messes and keeps throwing food on the floor and everything else in the house. Well how would you handle this. Would you flip out like I did the other day or would you have a more stable and brilliant method of dealing with this? Your thoughts are welcome =)

Well, on the days when I handle it the best, I take those days as an indication that everyone needs some TLC and extra attention. Often we set aside our plans for the day (at least for a few minutes) and cuddle up to read a book or play a game.

Or, on my less stellar days I just decide it's time for naps and quiet time. :)

I'm glad to see you around again, too. The past year or so has been pretty crazy for us.

We ALL have those days. It's okay to flip out, cuz you won't flip out every time! Take them with humor and eat a HUGE chocolate muffin from Costco!

Thank you kangaroo and Mitchell. I love the advise. I did take a break and wrote in my journal that day. A new journal I started about my most crazy and personal thoughts and that helped a lot. I love the muffin idea. Your making me hungry =). But now how do I pull myself out of the taking a break mentality and get back to work he he.

When my hubby and I are both sick, we just let the kids have a relaxed, easy day. They can have all the PB&J they want, we give them their favorite board games, and occasionally throughout the day put on a favorite movie or TV show. We don't worry about how messy the house gets, or how much the dishes and laundry pile up. Those are all temporary messes that can be dealt with later when Mom and Dad are both feeling better again.

on those chaotic days. wich I seem to come across too often. i have found that it is much easier to clean up the mess from food and/or such, than to clean the mess up from having a freak out on our families. Our children are usually the ones who are affected the most from these breakdowns we as adults seem to have. I am trying to learn to recognize when i begin to feel under the weather, so when i feel this way, I try to plan the day in a relaxing way and i focus on the more important things and let the small stuff just slide on by. It takes time to learn to do this, but if we really try we can do it!
